Little writers, big words.

What is Important
Jonathan (age 8)
Orenda

Some people think money is important, but it’s just paper and metal. Some people think diamonds are important, but they’re just shiny. Also, some people think gold is important, but it’s just shiny. These things are important: family, friends, being nice, and taking care of each other. These are truly things that give me joy. Taking care of each other makes the world a better place.

A Snowmobile Ride

Lilly Rose(age 9)
Clarskville Elementary

The engines
The brakes
and a wee bit of fun

Slashing and
Crashing
Bumping and
Lumping

The speed limit's
40
You're going like
50

Riding the road
and saying hello

The wind in your face
and the snow piles high
That's what it's like on
a snomobile ride!

Fall

Ava(7) Guilderland Elementary School

The leaves are rustling
The wind is blowing
My body is covered in a nice, warm jacket.

The world is beautiful when
it is fall!

On the Hill, By the Lake

Abigail (Age 9), Guilderland Elementary School
Sitting
on the hill
Beside the lake
the cool breeze blows
as the green grass sways
whispering stay, stay
The fisherman sits on his rock
so quietly you would think he heard
that whispering wind, too.

Christmas Trees
Ryan (age 8)
Sacred Heart School

I am sitting around the
Christmas tree

I am running around the
Christmas tree

I love to sit around the
Christmas tree

Drinking hot cocoa!
