Chapter 1: The Move
Hi! My name is Bwento. My birthday is only in one month! My birthday is in June and it’s
May. But I won’t be able to get he birthday present I always wanted. I wanted the Turbo chemistry Set 4000. It’s
because my mom has a better job in Albany. But I live I Washington, D.C. I’ll have to go to a new school. I’m
scared that nobody will like me, but I feel a little okay.
I’m going to miss my friends, Roger and Burton. I already talked to them about what was going
to happen. My 5th grade teacher, Ms. Rodria, is sad to no longer have me as a student. I’ll probably like
my new friends and new teacher.
Chapter 2: Not Bad
My mom, dad, my little brother Geromie and I packed up and went to get into my mom’s Toyota
van. It had TV and VG (video games) to pass the time on our trip. She also had a refrigerator to store the milk, potato chips,
and all kinds of sandwiches and things for us to eat during our trip. I played the video game, Trango, and my little brother
played against me. We both ate big bags of lightly salted potato chips while our mom drove. My dad ate his own chef’s
salad with Boca Burger and diced peppers. We had a pretty great time on our trip.
Chapter 3: Uh-Oh!
Thanks to Geromie’s crying, I had to feed him. Even though he was 4 years old, he couldn’t
eat anything, not even the pizza and the Spri-Ci drink that I gave him, without making a mess. My mom ate some brussels sprouts
and some croutles (baked carrots) for a small snack. I fed Geromie and he must’ve felt a little happy and stuffed. I
mean, he burped about 5 times before actually going to sleep. I was satisfied as well. I was stuffed, Geromie was sleep and
couldn’t bother me…for now.
Chapter 4: Finally!
"We only have two hours until we get there," said Mom, still eating her Croutles. "At last," I
murmured. Most school trips don’t even take this long. How surprising, I thought to myself. Then, all of a sudden,
I heard a little cry next to me. It was Geromie, of course. He was tapping at the window while a fly stood perfectly on the
window. My dad was asleep now. His newspaper was spread across his face. My mom suddenly stopped. I noticed a policeman’s
car was parked behind us. "The Big Cheese," I murmured to myself. I was so scared when I saw the man give mom a ticket
that I almost sweat. "Next time…," said the policeman, "don’t stop in the middle of the highway like that." I
found out later that Mom almost passed an exit and tried to slow down to make it.
Chapter 5: We’ve Arrived!
We traveled right past the sign that read "Welcome to Albany". I felt a little sick. My dad woke
up. I thought he was acting juvenile when he said, "I wanna’ get there, I wanna’ get therrrrrrre!" A lot of times
he likes playing and goofing around. I wasn’t in the mood today.
"That’s a big house!" I exclaimed.
"And it’s ours, Bwento," my mother said, making a turn into the garage of the house. I thought
the house would be corny, but the house made me want to have the whole house to myself. Geromie moaned and whined. He was
sick of being in his car seat for such a long time.
My dad was the first one to get out of the car. "I’ve got the perfect idea!" he yelled. He
then took out his cell phone. "What are you gonna do, Dad?" He ignored me. He told us to get in front of the house. He set
up the camera so that the whole family could be in the picture. I finally felt that Albany would be a good fit for me.
