The Story of Demae Robinson

September 7  : At School

“Hey y’all!” I said. It was the first day of Fifth Grade. The hallway was filled with an excited buzz. All of my “other” friends were talking about their cool summer vacations.
My mind went to Gina. I sighed. My BFF, (Girl Code for best friends forever), Gina and I spent our last summer vacation together in Disney World. I unloaded all of my things slowly and looked up. I was next to Mike and Alyssa, my BF’s, (Girl Code for Best Friends). Well, it was better than nothing.

Lunch

At lunchtime, Alyssa and Mike sat at our usual 4 seat table. It felt lonely without Gina. I saw a girl sitting alone. “Hey guys” I said.
“What?”
“Can the new girl sit over here?”
“Sure”
“Whatever”
“Hey new girl! Over here!” Mike and Alyssa started laughing.
“Shut up!” I said.
“Hi” the new girl said shyly. “I’m Cassie.”
All through lunch Mike, Alyssa, Cassie and I talked. She wasn’t like Gina. No one is, I thought angrily.

The Spy Princess

Once there was a princess named Diamond but nobody knew she was also a spy. When she did her spy work she changed her name to Donna. One day Diamond’s mother called and said, “Honey dress as fancy as you can because you have to go to the King’s ball.”

So Diamond said, “O.k.” So then Diamond went to the store with the fanciest dresses in the world.  Then she looked at a few dresses. She found a really pretty dress so she bought that dress. She tried to hurry.  She was first one there and then everybody else came.  First they turned off the lights and lit the candle. They turned on the light then somebody yelled, “I lost my gold necklace!”

Diamond said, “I need to leave for my princess school.”

So her mother said, “Okay.”  She went to the ladies room and changed to her spy suit, came out and said, “A princess called me.” So then Donna asked everyone; she even asked the king. Nobody said they stole it.  She asked again and again.  Everybody got mad and left. The king got upset and went to his room then she went to her spy office and thought, “I saw mud prints and a broken vase.”  Then she thought someone must have left when the lady lost her necklace.  There was a party again and the same thing happened again; but today guards stood outside of every door.

Somebody shouted, “I lost my watch!” The thief ran out the door, and the guards caught him, and then hit his head with two coconuts.  The thief gave back the watch and the necklace.  Then Diamond noticed who it was, and it was her friend.

Diamond said, “Leave or else.” The thief got scared and never came back.
