Gobble

Hi. I'm Jim and here's the story on how I saved my brother from becoming dinner to a cruel, cruel family.

One day I was running around in circles just so I could lose some weight. I didn't want anyone to find me, because it was that time of year again, Thanksgiving. But my brother wasn't listening to me. He thought it was a joke. He was just eating cheetohs and watching Netflix.

Then it happened. I heard whispers, followed by a scream. My Brother! I saw two men carrying my brother's little turkey face away, soon to be cooked.

I knew I had to save that turkey face, but the van that they were driving had already started to speed away.  The van was very fast, but it was I who was faster. I grabbed onto the van and waited for it to arrive at the destination. There he was. Locked in a cage. Scared to death.

I saw a cook opening the cage. I took my eyes off my brother for two seconds, and the cooked approached, about  to slice him in half. Not on my watch, I thought. I ran in, kicked the cook through the wall, and me and my brother drove the van home. And that's how I saved my brother from being Thanksgiving dinner.

Life in a Snowglobe

By Lincoln

What just happened? Why are me and my family in snow in the middle of August? I went outside, which was freezing and snowy. I saw glass surrounding me. Through the glass I saw shelves, toys, and a little kid with a red shirt and blue pants, smiling at me. Before I could scream, his huge paws were on the snowglobe I was trapped inside. Shake. Shake. Shake. I puked a little but otherwise fine.

Not!!!My family was inside while I was flying? Finally the kid stopped and said, "Mommy, can we get this?"

She said,"Yes, Honey." I fell on the ground, not knowing what happened. When I woke up I was in a giant house. I realized that shrink a ray thing shrunk all of us. I went inside and Mom, Dad, my 3 sisters Birtha, Birthie, and Birda and my 4 brothers Roman, John, Pete, and Bob were sleeping. So I went to sleep.

Insides Torn Out

By Abigail, Age 11

Schalmont

As the children grab their bats.

Someone raises the colorful animal into the air.

Streamers and ribbons in every color you could imagine,

fly in the wind.

as each blindfolded child

is led to the creature

colored in pink, green, orange, and yellow.

The children swing their bats every which way, hoping to hit the animal,

and not each other.

Candy flies everywhere.

Hitting kids on the head,

as they swipe off the cloth on their faces.

They screech and cream,

running toward the pile of goodies that awaits.

By bedtime, the animal lays peacerfully on the ground,

the ribbons stepped on and ripped open.

And candy wrappers lay on the ground,

Gently blowing in the wind.
